Terminator 3 director Jonathan Mostow has been signed to rewrite and direct Marvel’s Sub-Mariner for Universal Pictures.
Chris Columbus, executive producer of Fantastic Four, previously had been attached to direct and produce the big-screen debut of Prince Namor. But, as the Guardian writes, Columbus “seems to have quietly sloped off.”
Mostow’s other credits include U-571, which he wrote and directed, and the announced Terminator 4.
According to ComingSoon.net, Kevin Misher (The Interpreter, The Scorpion King) is producing Sub-Mariner with Marvel Studios. David Self (Road to Perdition, Deathlok, Captain America) wrote an earlier draft of the screenplay.
Sub-Mariner was created in 1939 by Bill Everett.

U-571 was a fantastic film. This might actually be good.

And only further anti-Aquaman sentiments.

Who wants to see a Sub-Mariner movie? I mean, really, without snark. Does anyone think this will set the box-office on fire?

Reply to #3: Not meant as a snark either, but once upon a time you could probably have said the same thing about Blade.
