Eliza Dushku, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Priyanka Chopra. At this point, who hasn’t been rumored as a possible star for Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman film?
This go-around, it’s American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee. Hey, at least it’s not Taylor Hicks.
The New York Post carries the latest report, but I think I first saw mention of it on TMZ.com, which attributes the information to “a well-placed source.” So, yeah.

She has a great look, but I doubt her acting abilities.
Now if we ever need Wonder Woman to sing, that’s another issue altogether…

What’s with all the rumors still? Look no further, Morena Baccarin is perfect for the part!
(please let her get the part)
September 1st, 2006 at 8:59 am
Morena Baccarin certainly is a pretty girl, and I believe that she can act (Firefly/Serenity was a favorite), but Wonder Woman should have a figure also.
Morena is a little slight, and too girly for the role. Of the ladies mentioned in the blurb – none are right for the part.
I don’t envy Whedon at all!
September 1st, 2006 at 10:09 am
Hmmm,
I always saw Bridget Moynahan in that role

Wonder Woman needs breasts. Acting & breasts is a tough combo.

lucy lawless is to wonder woman what christopher reeves was to superman
September 1st, 2006 at 11:08 am

Has anyone other than me considered Catherine Bell from TV’s JAG? She can act She can do action She can fill out the costume! Her heritage is British/Iranian. She looks Greek! Do a search and pull up some pictures of her with long black hair in a bikini and you’ll be convinced!! Let’s get the casting on this movie RIGHT! Because a movie like this is all about casting!
September 1st, 2006 at 2:01 pm
I think she’d be great. She is breathtaking to look at and she has a presence to her. My wife loves the show, so I watch it with her and it’s funny that I told her “forget music, she should be an actress.” I even stated that she could be Wonder Woman.
September 1st, 2006 at 2:08 pm
A WORLD of no.
September 1st, 2006 at 2:45 pm
Scott,
Bell is a great choice as well.

“She has a great look, but I doubt her acting abilities.

Agreed.
September 1st, 2006 at 3:20 pm
Guys, as much as I love Catherine Bell, she’s 38 years old. :p There’s no way she can be Wondie.
September 1st, 2006 at 3:27 pm
Same for Lucy Lawless (not to mention a couple other reasons against her).
September 1st, 2006 at 3:31 pm
Same for Lucy Lawless.
September 1st, 2006 at 7:51 pm
Has nobody considered Evangeline Lily from Lost? Yes, she’s on the smaller side, but she has the ability to pull off the character. Just my two cents.
September 1st, 2006 at 8:17 pm
She is so unbelievably hot. I could care less about her acting abilities, for if she were to wear the Wonder Woman costume, it’d be a two hour orgasm.
September 2nd, 2006 at 5:02 am
Kat would certainly look good as she’s tall and beautiful but I’d prefer an established actress like Charisma Carpenter or Eliza Dushku.
September 2nd, 2006 at 5:15 pm
Monica Baccarin does not look like Wonder Woman in any way.
Katherine McPhee is more Athletic and Amazonian looking.
September 3rd, 2006 at 9:19 am
Katharine is actually just 5’8, which isn’t tall, but not short either. She’s apparently an aspiring actress, having done lead acting in theatre and a bit of a athelete, though.(according the the wiki) Her figure is awesome, though and I wouldn’t mind seeing her in the costume.
September 3rd, 2006 at 11:19 am
It’s gotta be Jennifer Connelly. Seriously, she’s perfect.
September 3rd, 2006 at 9:05 pm
Oh, fuck no.

This is an old rumor that started with E-Online back in May 31. Several entertainment news outlets picked up on it back then but now it seems to have been picked up again. Meanwhile, this rumor seemed to have originated someone’s blog posting back in May 28. The rumor then was not only was McPhee was up for Wonder Woman, but that Steven Spielberg was also interested in her. Which I think really shows just how BS this rumor was to begin with.
However, it doesn’t surprise me that the entertainment industry is running with this rumor, after the media went with the Kate Beckinsale rumor, which clearly began as an April Fools gag on JoBlo.com. Not only was the tone of the article over the top, but it ended clearly saying it was an April’s Fools joke. Yet, several media outlets picked it up, causing other media outlets to also run with the clearly false rumor.
Meanwhile back in reality, Joss Whedon has repeatly mentioned that no casting will be done until the script is dealt with. Since Whedon recently mentioned that execs Warner Brothers only just read the script for the first time and will be meeting with him soon about it. So until the script is final, all casting rumors can be completely ignored.

Migs, I have envisioned Evangeline Lily as WONDER WOMAN since the first day I laid my eyes on her. For me, there is no other contender for the role.
Sadly, I really doubt Mr. Whedon will indulge me.
Of course, if I had to settle for Kate Beckinsale, you will hear no complaint from me. ;-D But I really do not see her in that role, it’s just that she is always a feast for the eyes.
Same for Jennifer Connelly, she has the most beautiful, mesmerizing eyes, and she is blessed with talent aplenty to match, not to mention her disarming ability to project both vulnerability and strength at the same time. But she would not be right for the part.
Just my two cents.
September 4th, 2006 at 12:37 pm
Katharine McPhee would do soo good as being Wonder Woman!! She is sooo beautiful!!
September 4th, 2006 at 11:48 pm
I personally have always thought it should be Monica Bellucci. I can’t think of anyone better, and certainly hope not to see one of the flavor of the month girls.
September 5th, 2006 at 12:45 pm
Well, CMcP certainly has the, er, upper body strength to fill WW’s uniform, but can she act worth a damn? Or would it be along the lines of Cindy Crawford’s movie?
September 5th, 2006 at 12:46 pm
KMcP, not CMcP. Sorry.
September 6th, 2006 at 1:45 am
Katharine McPhee is certainly hot with the vocals to match but for a comic movie that’s as important as Wonder Woman, i’m sure everyone would like someone with at least some major acting experience…Now, i totally agree with the choice of Catherine Bell..I think she’s actually hotter than McPhee and definitely more qualified from the acting point-of-view…38 years old, you say?…Well, she’s Wonder WOMAN..Not Wonder Girl..And in the comics, i think she’s older than Clark and Bruce anyway ( in real life, i think she’s only slightly older than Christian Bale and what’s-his-name who did Superman ) so the age factor might actually be a match for the movie…Besides, she doesn’t LOOK 38 years old..I certainly wouldn’t have known it if i didn’t read it in this blog.
September 6th, 2006 at 11:31 pm
Kat has the stature, and the look, but my choice is Nadia Bjorlin.Check her out. She is the total package. She is the little known actress, that they should look at.They said that they want an unknown. She is it.They will not regret it.
September 8th, 2006 at 2:46 pm
if katherine can play the role with fun and a sense of humor, then she’s perfect.
September 10th, 2006 at 10:58 pm
If there is any truth to this, which I doubt, it would be one of the biggest clusterf***s in movie history.
And if this is the best WB can come up with then Joss needs to wash his hands of the whole worthless project.
I mean, Katharine McPhee? Jesus.
September 14th, 2006 at 5:17 am
She’s cute, but i’ll choose Bridget Moynahan or Monica Belluci instead
January 17th, 2011 at 2:14 pm
Hi, I have had to purchase a overnight bruxism grinding guard, but the damn thing was massively expensive. Do you know of an alternative option?
