For those who have read Wizard, think they know the line-up of the new Mighty Avengers team, or just want to read other people bitching about it, click that “More” link.
Over on Comic Bloc, the line up is revealed to be Iron Man, Ms.Marvel, Black Widow, Wasp, Ares, Wonder Man and Sentry. Personally, I wonder if the lack of Hank Pym means that he dies or not, but that’s not what the fans are talking about:
“Based on that line-up, I doubt I will get this series as there’s not one character I’m truly fond of. Looks like these guys are all the ‘Pro’s’ and the ‘New’ team will be the ‘Cons’. Looks like there will be some lingering bad feeling between the heroes after Civil War is over.”
“Hmm…piecing things together it sounds like thor DOES indeed defect (which is great); and he will be throwing down vs Ares in civil war…(which bendis has alluded to) . Still the sides don’t even out as Thor cannot take care of sentry. Joe Q said ‘Thor kicks a lot of *** in Civil war 4′ maybe he’s getting off on the fact that thor is in fact already on Cap’s side and is just pretending to be Pro registration…”
“This team is lame…I’d rather see them bring back Hawkeye and use him instead of Tony. Although I doubt that Hawkeye would ever be Pro Registration. I see him with Cap. But I’ll check it out to see how it goes.”
These fans aren’t apparently too enthused about the line-up, but it does show clues as to how the post-Civil War Marvel Universe is going to shape up…

Is it me or is this lineup “tanks & sneaky females”?

You’ll remember I bet the under on “Hank Pym dead in 6″. Loser washes the other’s car for a year. Or hair, whatever.

Frank Cho…Black Widow…
I… I have to, uh, wash up. Yeah… wash up.

Those quotes are from the Geoff Johns board. They hate anything by Marvel. So, I don’t really go by their opinion. I like the team a lot.

I was trying to decide on an Avengers title to pick up after Civil War since I’ve never really read them much and wanted to give it a try…looks like Mighty isn’t going to be the one though…

This team is full of tanks, but I wouldn’t place all the women in the “sneaky female” group. They make a nice balance to the pure tank-itude of the male members. I would be interested in this book, but Sentry kills any interest I have in any book ever. Superman Yellow can die in a fire.

I’m pretty sure the ony surprise is that Pym isn’t there. Hmm… Millar IS known for damaging characters with growth powers and they did say the character who dies in number 4 would be one of Marvel’s BIGGEST. Suddenly the entire issue is spoiled now. Damn delays.

As far as I know, Pym is going to be a “supporting” character in the new Ant-Man series, so he might have given up the superheroics. I do find it interesting that the only member of the New Avengers who will still be sided with Iron Man once this is all over is the Sentry, and I wouldn’t be surprised that a lot of that has to do with the fact that their buildings are right on top of each other.

Wait a minute, if Mighty Avengers is allegedly going to be the “fun” Avengers book, then why is Iron Man, who’s rapidly becoming one of its biggest villains, the leader?

Boys and girls, anyone who needs more proof that Bendis needs to be kicked off the Avenger franchise, look at the roster and cry….
As for Pym, he’s not going to die when Millar has gone out of his way to repower and bring back Bill Foster. It’s Foster who Thor will kill via flying impalement in Civil War, as that’s the only reason why Foster is even in the book, as he’s dead man walking…

Dan, it’s being written by Bendis; do you not know by now that “fun” to Bendis means that it’s only “fun” to Bendis, Millar and the rest of their personal clique at Marvel?????

Wasn’t Pym meant to be a supporting character in Irredeemable Ant-Man?
