More like sphinctertron. Here’s hoping his arm cannon is huge enough to compensate for this total unfamiliarity..

I left the Transformers behind when I grew up, I couldn’t care less what they look like now. As long as there’re giant robots on that screen, blowing shit up while the American flag flies in the background (in true Michael Bay style), I’ll be there with liquor coursing through my veins, sitting in the back and occasionally taking breaks from the action on screen to voraciously make-out with my lady while 18-wheelers fight jets to a pulse (and theater) pounding score that makes John Williams want to kill himself.
And everything I see about this movie confirms that’s exactly what I’m going to get.

I’ve been told that rumor has it this is the Cybertron version of Megatron.

Man, I heard this movie was going to be based on the toys I had as a child, and that the plot would duplicate my exact play-battles, and that the whole thing would recreate the nostalgic image of Transformers that specifically reside inside my head. I can’t believe thaey are doing this, what an outrage, etc, ad nauseum..

Wow! I love how fans jump the gun bichn n moanin with minimal facts. There are transformers–they CHANGE. It’s what they do. Lol! EVERY SINGLE TIME I hear/read these threads, it makes me giggle. It’s those same fans who cried like babies when the PR shots for X-MEN, BATMAN BEGINS (etc etc) leaked on the web. Where are those thumb-suckers when the movies rock, make $300 million, and go on to win accolades from fans and mainstream? Surprisingly quiet in their appologies. Shut yer traps, wait for the flick, and jusdge on it’s merit. Even if that IS the earth-form Megatron, who cares? Scary robot killer. Oh no! What a terrible creative decision! How will life go on? Waaaaaaaa!

I’m okay with a little bit of change in character design, got to make it good looking for the big screen right? But that’s just plain ugly…

Wow, what’s worse here: the Megatron design or the reactions above?
I think I’ll avoid this movie a) because it’s Michael Bay and doesn’t look very good, and b) the scary fans.

Uh. The comments here aren’t that bad – 3 of 7 not liking the design and even they’re not crazy fanboyish over it.
“Scary fans” are the ones who write fan-fiction.

The only ones who have left large crazy rants above are the ones who seem to be on the “defend the movie” side. In my post, all I request is a little familiarity.
