Although I have a sneaking suspicion this could spiral into a morality tale about using IMDB.com as a news source, the Irish Examiner and other newspapers are reporting that Ryan Phillippe has been cast as Two-Face in The Dark Knight, the sequel to last Batman Begins.
Citing IMDB or “Internet reports,” the newspapers say Phillippe, who was long rumored to be up for the role, beat out other contenders such as Liev Schreiber and Josh Lucas.
I’m no expert at maneuvering IMDB — the comments there make those on the worst comics forums pale in comparison — but the only casting news I can find there is this item that says Phillippe “may be set” to star as Two-Face (emphasis mine).
Not really solid ground, is it? We’ll follow up when and if anything more is announced.
