BET’s new animation division has signed deals with Film Roman, and Static Shock co-creator Dwayne McDuffie to develop animated projects.
According to Reuters, the agreement with calls for McDuffie to create an action-adventure series for BET Animation. The deal also reunites him with Static Shock co-creator and Milestone Media co-founder Denys Cowan, now the network’s senior vice president of animation. Cowan will oversee development of the new projects.
Film Roman, whose credits include The Simpsons and King of the Hill, will produce animated films, TV shows and content for the Internet and new media. The studio and BET also plan to jointly develop projects for DVD and theatrical release.

Fantastic! The work Dwayne has done on Justice League Ultd., and Static shows great promise BET animation. I hope Reginald Hudlin will get to contribute in some fashion.
