First review of Justice League Heroes

August 16th, 2006
Author JK Parkin

The folks at Joystiq.com, a video game blog, received a sneak preview of the upcoming Justice League Heroes game coming out later this year. Calling it “more or less a stripped down X-Men Legends,” the review commended the game for its solid graphics and big-name character choices, but added that it’s a little dry and boring at times, mostly because only two controllable characters are allowed on the screen at a time (versus X-Men Legends’ four).

The game doesn’t have a firm release date yet. Playable characters include Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, John Stewart, Martain Manhunter, Flash, Zatanna and an unlockable Green Arrow. Villains will include the Key, Brainiac, Queen Bee, Gorilla Grodd, Killer Frost and an invading army of White Martians. More screenshots are available over at Joystiq.

I saw this game in action when I was at San Diego Comic-con. This game is going to be pretty bad ass.

    “only two controllable characters”

BAH! I want four controllable characters, dammit! Oh well, at least Zatanna is in it.

  3. Lyle Says:

Zatanna? Zatanna? I can’t imagine how the character will play, considering her powers.

  4. JK Parkin Says:

She’s pretty powerful, but the controls are a little backwards …

  5. Michael Nicolai Says:

I would really enjoy a stripped down X-Men Legends, I found it a little overwhelming. (You whipper-snappers and your four controllable characters!)

Pairs of two makes sense for this group, it reminds me of the Silver Age JLA books, team-ups with the JSA, etc. If the PSP version is even half-way decent I’ll be sold.

  6. Kyle Cowstar Says:

It looks lame compared to Legends. So lame. Seriously. DC. Learn to have your properties made into decent games.

  7. Mike Nicolai Says:

How do you get your properties made into a decent game? Really, I’d like to know.

Just waiting for Marvel Ultimate Alliance…

  9. frank Says:

this sucks that its only two players but im probably only gonna use the only dc characters that i like which are batman and green lantern.

  10. frank Says:

well at least its not one player. but even if it was four players marvel ultimate alliance will easily kick the crap out of this game. it als needs more than one secret character.
