Wahlberg wouldn’t mind producing Aquaman film

At IESB.net, Entourage executive producer Mark Wahlberg addresses rumors of an Aquaman movie, saying he’d be interested in producing the project — with Entourage’s Adrian Grenier as the star.

“So where do we stand?” IESB writes. “It’s all talk right now, but we may see something in the future, but Wahlberg will not be starring perhaps behind the camera instead and his first choice, well his only choice actually, would be Vince, Adrian Grenier, the star of Entourage.”

The movie rumors began in June, thanks to a parody ad placed in Variety by HBO to celebrate the record-breaking opening of the fictional Aquaman movie. In the cable series Entourage, Vincent Chase (Grenier) stars in James Cameron’s big-budget adaptation. While some mistook the ad for real, other Hollywood insiders began mulling over the feasibility of an actual film about DC Comics’ sea king.

Aquman could be a great movie if done right or it could be the new Waterworld if done “right”. Sigh… I hope Aquaman’s day comes. :)
