Much discussion has been raised concerning the recent announcement that Heath Ledger will play The Joker in the sequel to Batman Begins, The Dark Knight. To see what that could possibly look like, I found this:
We all know about the legendary performance of Jack Nicholson in the same role in Tim Burton’s Batman movie, but let’s not confuse performance ability for the much more important acting factor - looks - as the Boston Herald explains to us that “there’s no question that Ledger’s performance will be, in the very least, easier on the eyes!“

I’d bet money that you won’t see the complete clown makeup on this new Joker. You won’t get all the white skin with bright red lips and green hair. It’ll be much more subdued, color wise.

Jack’s performance was a bad Joker.

I feel that Chris Nolan is going to surprise us once again, with his style of darkness and horror i think this Joker is going to blow Jack’s out of the water.

Jack is the only Joker

First off, Jack Nicholson was a fantastic Joker. I mean, he was perfect for the role. Now, I know there has been much controversy on Heath Ledger being the new Joker. Everyone is comparing his role in Brokeback Mountain to the upcoming Batman movie. First of all, it takes a great actor to accept a role like that, knowing the little snickers that will come with it. And I’m sure everyone remembers “A Knight’s Tale”. His performance was great. I think that since everyone is trying to crack on him, Ledger is going to blow everyone out of the water and surprise everyone speechless. Besides, Chris Nolan did an absolutely amazing job on “Batman Begins”. I think the man knows what he is doing. I’m sure the second film will be just as great, if not better then the first.

HAHA. Jack Nickelson’s role in the first batman was not GREAT. Nor even good. I’m sure the only person whom could hate that movie more than myself is the Joker, himself. What you people understand it’s not about this ‘pop-culture’ emo or gothic fantasies of darkness. The Joker has no method in his madness, it’s pure unadulterated madness. The Clown Prince of Crime is not a logical or interpretiable being. But, I’ll give one thing to Ledger in the interviews he sounds fine, but I read somewhere that he didn’t want to laugh, and well…If he doesn’t do that then the villain in this Joker will be some sort of failed attempt, rather than the real thing.
