Over at the Bendis Board, Matt Hollingsworth announces, possibly for the first time, the complete line-up to the upcoming Marvel mini-series that’s like unto a thing of iron. Or something:
“I’ll be coloring the new The Immortal Iron Fist mini series for Marvel Comics. It’s being written by Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction and drawn by Spanish artist David Aja. I believe it’s five issues, with the first issue on sale sometime in November. Should be a lot of fun. Woo hoo!”
Being unfamiliar with the name David Aja, I googled him and found out that he’s done some X-Men Unlimited work in the past, and is the artist on David Lapham’s Giant-Size Wolverine, due in October. But if that’s not enough for you – Fraction and Brubaker co-writing? That’s going to be fun.

Aja also drew, with Jose Villarubia coloring, a backup in Civil War: Front Line #3. Very raw, very Sienkeiwicz- esque- I think his IF may resemble Jae Lee’s take on the character in Spider-Man and Namor over a decade ago.

Duncan – You never read Power Man and Iron Fist when you were a kid? Didn’t they have “The Thing is Big Ben” back then…?

Nah, this was waaaay before then, I think. It was a cheap two-colour Marvel reprint book: Marvel Two-In-One in the front, and Power-Man and Iron Fist as a back-up strip. It was exactly the kind of comic you should be reading when you’re a kid.

I’ve read that one… It’s Claremont/Byrne being great, right? I can’t remember how it ends properly, but I seem to remember the Dragon Tattoo makes the bad guy implode or something…
