The Los Angeles Times reports that actor Heath Ledger will play the Joker in Christopher Nolan’s sequel to Batman Begins, officially titled The Dark Knight. The casting was confirmed Monday by Warner Bros.
The Ledger rumors began circulating shortly before Comic-Con. Of course, at one point everyone from Robin Williams to Adrien Brody was said to be up for the role of the Clown Prince of Crime.
With the Joker casting confirmed, that leaves talk of Ryan Phillipe as Two-Face and Phillip Seymour Hoffman as an arms-dealing Penguin. One rumor down, many more to go …
