First look at Spider-Man 3’s Venom

Cinema Blend has the first image of Spider-Man 3’s Venom up at their site, following yesterday’s confirmation in San Diego that Topher Grace would, indeed, be playing Eddie Brock/Venom:

Venom

CB’s Josh Taylor writes:

After months, no years of will he won’t he speculation, we finally have some sort of actual confirmation. Topher Grace really will be playing Venom in Spider-Man 3.

Reports are pouring in from the floor of Comic Con, from sources like AICN, where footage of Topher Grace (as Eddie Brock) actually becoming Venom was shown. He’s not just playing Venom, but he becomes him in the film, in exactly the way each and every web head has hoped. It’s going to be glorious.

‘Nuff said.

This film makes me nervous. Why do I have the feeling they are going to get it all wrong?

there is a bootleg of the trailer they showed on YOUTUBE. It’s fuzzy, but you get the idea of what Venom will look like full costume

When it comes to comic-to-film adaptations it’s important to reimagine the source material while retaining its spirit more than anything. How would Venom’s transformation look like in real-life?

It’s more dynamic when Brock’s teeth sharpen (something we haven’t seen in the comic books) than watching the black suit just crawl up to his face and form teeth. It’s all about enhancing the source material rather than taking away from it (turning the Green Goblin into a power ranger is an example of taking away… since the cool elements in the comics are tossed away… not the useless ones).

i think sam’s vision of the green goblin was very well done. I mean green goblin isnt acctually a goblin hes jsut a man in a suit and sam just gave the suit a more suit of aromor look rather then makeing him look like a green constipated gnome.
I think sames going to do an amazing job with venom and i can hardly wait.

I thought Venom was very sexy, I loved him, Topher Grace was a very good choice for Venom, I loved it very much. I think this was the best Spider-Man movie I had ever seen.
