Saddened by his non-appearance - well, non-physical appearance - in San Diego, Mark Millar is being very vocal on his message board right now, including this update on what’s happened to his creator-owned Millarworld projects. There’s swearing, so it’s after the jump for those who have weak stomachs for language:
[Unfinished MW wave 1 book, The] Unfunnies is only held up because I literally have the same forms lying on my desk I STILL haven’t mailed and it’s insane. Apologies to all. Kick-Ass is the last of Millarworld One (replacing RUN [cancelled under mysterious circumstances]) and should be out in the spring.
As for the [second wave of Millarworld books], fuck knows. I was sick as shit back in March, off work for ten weeks, in hospital, etc, etc, and worse than I’d ever been. Mostly back to normal now, but lost almost 3 months and all available time went into [Civil War]. Hopefully get Phase 2 going next summer, but– really– fuck knows.

At this point, I’m not sure if there really is an excuse for not finishing The Unfunnies, regardless of what Millar says. Didn’t “mail some forms”? Uh, ok…

Also, I’m wondering if there is a particular reason that Millar has Hawkeye as his avatar on his site. Hmmm…
