Fox Atomic, Fox Searchlight’s new young-adult division, has partnered with HarperCollins to publish and distribute a line of graphic novels both tied to films and featuring original content.
The first title under the Fox Atomic Comics banner will be 28 Days Later: The Aftermath, written by Steve Niles and edited by Jimmy Palmiotti. Due in spring 2007, the book bridges the gap between the original movie and the sequel. That release will be followed by The Hills Have Eyes: The Beginning and an anthology called The Nightmare Factory.
According to the press release, all publishing rights and in-store marketing will be handled by HarperCollins, while Fox Atomic will concentrate on creative direction, online and regional marketing and theater promotions.
