Entertainment Weekly‘s Popwatch blog has the cover of the first issue to the much-anticipated Buffy the Vampire Slayer miniseries — called “Season 8″ by those in the know. The series, written by Joss Whedon, is set for October release, but the EW blog says Dark Horse will debut Issue 1 this weekend at Comic-Con.
Reaction in the comments section is overwhelmingly positive, but underscores the disconnect between the core comics market and, well, everybody else: Some Buffy fans are confused about where and how to preorder the series.
By the way, Popwatch credits Georges Jeanty as the cover artist, but it looks the world like Jo Chen. I’m sticking with Chen.

That’s Chen, that’s her signature, and Buffy has no sideburns, so there’s no way it can be Jeanty.

Man that is one ugly cover.

That smile is more genunine than any Gellar made from seasons 4 to 7.

I love Chen’s art.

I don’t normally buy TV-based comics but this I’ll make an exception for

Jo Chen is my favourite so seeing Entertainment Weekly mess up her credit makes me twitch. A lot.

That’s DEFINITELY Chen. She rocks. Check out her amazing Runaways covers, guys.
