Zoom

Zoom trailer online
The trailer for the new family film Zoom, which is about a group of super-powered kids saving the world, is now up at Hollywood.com. The film stars Tim Allen and Courtney Cox.

Top ten comic book movie coverage clichés
It seems like every time a super hero movie comes out, at least a couple of media outlets put together a “top ten” or “top five” list of some kind … and this week was no exception. The Charleston Post & Courier lists their top five “comic-book heroes in film,” while MSNBC counts down the best and worst super hero movies.

Kingdon of Loathing invades San Diego
The creative minds behind Kingdom of Loathing are planning to be at the San Diego Comicon later this month, where they’ll be selling shirts and other items related to the game, as well as giving out “small in-game souvenirs to anybody who comes to visit us.”

If you’ve never been exposed to the zany humor of KoL, it’s basically an online MMORG that uses stick figures to tell its story … or, actually, stick figures, meat, pop culture references (including “appearances” by Delirium of the Endless, Yoda, Peter Pan, Prince and many more) and a cleverness that never fails to entertain. It’s fun, free and addictive, and all you need to play is a web connection. Go check it out.

Cool shirts for a good cause
PROTECT, America’s first political lobby for child protection, is offering some cool book-related shirts this fall in an effort to raise money for their cause.

Championship Vinyl

The shirts feature logos from Mama’s Restaurant, The Orbit Drive-In and Championship Vinyl — fictional establishments from Andrew Vachss’ Burke novels, Joe R. Lansdale’s The Drive-In and Nick Hornby’s High Fidelity.

I know many people rate Superman II as being better then Superman, but I have always felt Superman was the superior of the two.
When I was younger I loved Superman II, but in recent years I have problems with it. The fact that Superman has to give up his powers in order to fall in love is insane to me. Outside of the silly Superman’s “S” throwable shield and his power to duplicate himself, the one new power that bothers me the most is Superman’s ability to kiss Lois so she forgets his secret identity. I know this is a fantasy film, but the “forget my identity” kiss is going too far. Even a fantasy film has to have some boundaries. Don’t give Superman new powers.

Inframan! That one gets alot of buzz in the tokusatsu hero fandom, but I’ve never managed to see more than a few clips (which were awesome). Is that even available on region 1 (or region free) dvd?

I know it wasn’t high art, but that they rank Daredevil below Catwoman boggles my mind.

Zoom looks like a really poorly done Sky High put together so the people who did Spy Kids would have work. It could end up being a surprise though..but Sky High looked kind of funny from the trailers whereas this looks…like Spy Kids.
