Constantine

Sandra Bullock has our backs
SciFi Wire reports that in front of a room full of reporters, Sandra Bullock advised Keanu Reeves not to make a sequel to the comic book adaptation Constantine:

During a press conference to promote their upcoming time-travel romantic movie, Bullock said with surprising candor: “No, no to sequels! Don’t do Constantine 2″ after Reeves was asked if he is doing a sequel. “Look, you never called to say, ‘Don’t do it.’ You never called,” she added, referring to her ill-fated sequel Speed 2, in which Reeves declined to appear.

If only he had made that call, the world would be a much better place. Reeves said he is still contemplating doing a sequel:

“It’s kind of [up] in the air. Maybe. Maybe. I would like to, but I don’t know if the producers want to do it.” Reeves added that it’s a long story why the sequel is being delayed. “We have to figure it out,” he said. “I don’t know.”

The Bakers get animated
Kyle Baker (Plastic Man), who received a few Eisner nominations this year, is turning his autobiographical comic The Bakers into animated shorts for his website, http://www.kylebaker.com/.

The site currently has four episodes up, dealing with everything from family trips to the mall to trying to keep the house clean. Baker also has other, non-autobiographical flash toons up; they’re worth a look.

Just animate it
Nike is getting into the computer animation game, per Yahoo:

Nike co-founder and chairman Phil Knight has purchased 30 acres of land south of Portland, Ore., to house a state-of-the-art campus for his burgeoning computer animation studio.

The future site, set to open in 2008, will house Laika Entertainment and its growing roster of talent and productions.

“Just as we anticipate our films will look like no others before them, so too will this campus make a bold and distinct architectural statement,” Knight said in a statement.

Because years of making shoes has prepared us so well for the animation game …

I never really followed the comic, but the movie seemed to be pretty cool, albeit it was Keanu Reeves.
