Yesterday’s Variety is likely the only place we’ll ever see an ad celebrating Aquaman‘s box-office domination. That’s because the ad is fake, placed by HBO to promote its series, Entourage.
The show follows up-and-coming actor Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) who, in the world of Entourage, signed on to star in James Cameron’s big-budget Aquaman movie.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the series, now in its third season, “is avidly followed in Hollywood because of its sharp portrayal of the entertainment industry culture.” The Variety ad was a nod to Entourage‘s “insider appeal.”

Entourage is a great show, if you’ve never seen it before, I recommend checking it out.
Seasons 1 & 2 are available on DVD.
Anybody know the status of the real Aquaman show that’s supposed to come to the WB?

The Aquaman TV series was pulled from The CW’s fall schedule right before the upfront presentations last month. There’s talk that it could reappear as a midseason replacement, but I don’t think that’s very likely.

That’s a shame. I saw the trailer and it looked kind of interesting. Like teen Aquaman as Fox Mulder investigating the mysteries of the Bermuda triangle. And it had Ving Rhames and Lou Diamond Phillips. And it took place in a beach community, which means lots of bikini-ladies! It would have kicked Smallville’s butt!

Seasons 1 and 2 are also available at The Internet Store, and yeah, it’s a great show. I turned my wife onto it and I think she loves it more than I do!

I turned my wife on to the show as well … in fact, she was supposed to wait for me to come home to watch the first couple of episodes this seasons, but somehow the TiVo magically began playing them through no fault of her own …

No, it’s usually either Ack-Wah-Man or Ahk-wah-man.
