Marvel and DC Comics aren’t the only publishers who can secure coverage in The New York Times. This morning’s “Arts, Briefly” column, home to many comics industry stories, includes an item on Platinum Studios‘ new talent-search competition, “The Comic Book Challenge.”
Visitors to the website can submit artwork and story synopses through July 5. Platinum executives will select 50 finalists, who will present their ideas to judges on July 20 in San Diego during Comic-Con International. The top three will then pitch their concepts on KNSD-TV, with votes cast online for the winner.
The winning concept will be produced as a comic book.
