Matthew Perpetua, who I remember from way back before the turn of the century when we both used to post on what became the Barbelith message board (back when it was called the Nexus and the idea of Grant Morrison writing the X-Men was just a nerd dream… Ah, those were the days. I had hair then, you know), has become somewhat of a star in the music world these days. Not every mp3 blogger gets mentioned in Entertainment Weekly as one of the ten best music websites around, after all… So is it any surprise that such a man finds himself interviewing Scott Pilgrim’s Bryan O’Malley about such things as Scott Pilgrim, bass playing and the importance of the Smashing Pumpkins? Exactly. Go read.
