Gail Simone puts her finger on just why X3: The Last Stand was a disappointment for so many fans:
In the first two films, they did Logan’s hair off of Jackman’s own, and I have to give props, because they somehow came up with a very inventive and clever style that didn’t look ridiculous, in the way a literal version of Logan’s comic hair might have. But in this film, for whatever reason, Jackman’s wearing a Logan wig. Not only is it less convincing and natural by half, but in some close-ups, you can actually see the glue line. Weird! I don’t think Jackman’s losing his hair…so I have no idea why they’d go this way, except perhaps as a time-saver. But that seems odd on a film where half the characters are wearing exhausting blue make-up, seemingly. BEWARE THE WIG! Anyway, first two films, real hair, great movies. Third film, wig, NOT such a great movie. Is that coincidence?”
And remember, this woman used to be a professional hairdresser. She knows what she’s talking about.

I can think of a few things I hated more in the new X-Men film than Logan’s hair, but now that you mention it, sure, why not? It was a god-awful mess because of that rat’s nest on top of Hugh Jackman’s head.

I also noticed that in some shots his hair color was lighter than in others. Shameful.

I didn’t even notice.
I was too busy enjoying the film (am I the only person who did that :p)

Don’t they understand that his appearance is his bread and butter?

You know, I knew there was something bugging me about Wolverine when I was watching the movie, now I realize it WAS the stupid hair. It just didn’t look right, but now it all makes sense.
Thanks Gail Simone!

Yeah, his hair was jacked up, that’s for darn sure. But it’s Hugh Jackman! Who’s looking at his hair? DAYUM!

Honestly, of all the bad make-up and effects etc in this movie ‘Rine’s hair is hardly the worst.
