In their infinite wisdom (or maybe in a moment of insanity), the powers that be at Newsarama have recruited the cast and crew of The Great Curve to join their team and bring over our brand of blogging goodness! (Lock up the liquor cabinet!)
Created in 2004 by former Newsarama contributor Alex Segura Jr., The Great Curve blogs daily about the latest comic and pop culture news, reviews, features, opinions and anything else we think will be of interest to comic book fans. And while we have a new name and our new audience may be slightly different (and definitely much larger) than before, our goal remains the same — to bring you an engaging, thought-provoking and fun blog that you’ll want to come back to every day.
Joining me from the Curve are Chris Hunter, Michael May, Tom Bondurant, Kevin Melrose, Shane Bailey and Stephanie Chan. We’re also adding a new yet familiar face, Graeme McMillan, who you might remember from his own blog, Fanboy Rampage. You can learn more about them on our contributors page.
We have also started migrating some of our old content from The Great Curve, so you’ll be able to check out those archives on the new site very soon.
I’d like to say thanks to the Newsarama team and the folks at IWS, who host our server, for all their help in getting us up and running. I’d also like to thank our own web designer, Stephanie Chan, for making us look so awesome! And finally, thanks to our launch sponsor, MTV2’s Sic Emation animation block, which you can check out starting June 10 (click the ads for more info!).
We appreciate the chance Matt Brady and the Newsarama guys have given us to do what we love to do – talk about comics – in front of the Newsarama audience. Thanks for checking us out, and I hope you’ll like what we have to offer!

Congrats on the whole blog thing, to Newsarama and the bloggers. This will be a nice addition to the fun at Newsarama and probably an increase in readers for the bloggers. So that makes this a win-win situation already.
See you people in the online funny pages.

So, will Newsarama put all it’s articles here or what? It’s weird to have to go to two different spots for comcis news from just a single site. Plus, this has RSS; when will Newsarama get it?

Hi Squasha — no, Newsarama will still keep their news articles over at the main site. What we hope to do is provide Newsarama readers with a different perspective and tone (You’ll see a lot more opinion in our reporting than you do on the main site), as well as a lot of links to interesting things on the Web that the main site hasn’t covered. It’s meant to add to their existing coverage, rather than replace or compete with it.
Eventually you’ll find Blog@ in the site’s main menu, so it will be easier to click between the two.
And as for Newsarama’s RSS feed, well … I’ll try and light a fire under Matt about that!

Hi John! Although I don’t follow comic news much anymore due to lack of interest, I know most of the contributors, read all of the preview paragraghs, have added this to my homepage, and look forward to reading you guys. Maybe you’ll even rekindle my interest in comics. Good luck!
